Rung 1 — The Foundation Build ($4,997, once)
Two conversations, and what’s in your head is finally on paper — and everything you’ve already published gets measured against it.
This is the only paid step before the subscription, and it’s where ownership lands. One cheque, no credits, no chain of upsells.
Right now your business is written down in a dozen places and none of them quite agree. Your homepage says one thing, your Google listing says something older, the proposal you email says it in different words. That isn’t sloppiness — it’s what happens when the real version only lives in your head and everyone downstream has to guess at it. The Build is where guessing stops.
What that buys you: everyone who meets your business learns the same thing about what you stand for and who you’re for — whether they land on your homepage, read an email, get handed a proposal, or find you in a search result.
What you end up with
Four documents you own outright
These are the source. From here on nothing about your business gets written from a guess, and anything that disagrees with them is checkable in minutes rather than arguable forever. Yours whether or not you continue. → the-static-brain
They’re short — a few pages each, plain English, no jargon. You could hand any one of them to a new employee on their first morning. That’s roughly the test we write them to.
| What it holds | The question it answers | What breaks without it | |
|---|---|---|---|
| your-voice | How you sound, the words you use, and the words you’d never use | If someone else wrote this, could anyone tell? | Copy that’s accurate and completely forgettable — and an hour a week of you rewriting tone |
| your-audience | Who you actually serve, what they want, and what they’re afraid of | Who is really reading this, and what were they worried about before they found you? | Marketing written for the customer you wish you had, not the one who calls |
| your-offer | What you sell, what it costs, what’s included, what you turn down | What exactly am I buying and why is it worth that? | Four versions of your pricing in circulation and a sales call that starts by undoing your own website |
| your-beliefs | The judgment calls that make the work yours, and what you’re arguing against | Why you, and not the one down the road? | The only claims left are “quality work, fair price, on time” — which is what everyone says |
Why four and not one. They get read by different things at different moments. A page needs the voice and the offer; a follow-up email needs the audience and the voice; a decision about whether to take a job needs the beliefs. Keeping them separate means you can sharpen one without disturbing the others — and when something goes wrong in an output, you can usually point at which document was thin.
your-beliefs is the one to read first, and the one most owners are surprised by. It’s the answer to “if I stepped away for a week, would this hold together?” — because what wobbles isn’t the process, it’s the judgment. That’s what these two conversations are actually for. → the-genius-with-amnesia
Your homepage, finished and live
The free rebuild you already saw, taken the rest of the way and actually deployed — written from your-voice and your-audience rather than from a template, and structured so an AI search engine can quote it accurately when someone asks about your trade in your town.
An honest read of where your calls come from
Not a vendor’s dashboard — your own accounts. How much comes from your Google listing versus people searching your name versus everything else, what your current marketing spend is actually buying, and whether anyone is even tracking it. Sometimes the answer is uncomfortable. We’d rather you hear it from us.
Your backend wired and filled
Your contacts, your pipeline, your email templates — set up in the system you already run your business from, with the work already in it rather than an empty shell. The templates are written from your-voice and your-offer, which is what makes a follow-up email sound like you rather than like software.
The alignment map
Everything you’ve already put out, read against those four documents — your other pages, your Google Business Profile, your social bios, the last emails you sent, the proposal you hand people, your ads if you run any. Three columns: what already agrees, what contradicts it, and what’s orphaned — still live, still findable, still describing a business you stopped running years ago. Ranked by how many people actually see it. → the-alignment-map
The drift receipt
Your homepage copy from 2019, from 2022, and today — held up against what your customers were saying in reviews each of those years. This is usually the part that lands hardest. You can watch the gap open.
A walkthrough at the end
Where we show you what was built, what we found, and what we checked — including what failed the check and what we chose not to fix. Then a straight answer on whether the monthly is worth it for you, which is sometimes no.
What the two conversations are actually like
No terminal, no tools, no homework, nothing to install. Two calls, about ninety minutes each, roughly a week apart. You talk; we take it down.
- The first one is mostly your-beliefs and your-audience. Why you started, what you refuse to do, the job you’d turn down, the customer you wish would stop calling, the thing your competitors do that you think is wrong. Most of it is us asking “why?” about something you’ve never had to explain out loud.
- Between the two, we write the first drafts and read your reviews, your existing pages and your listings.
- The second one is mostly your-offer and your-voice, and correcting what we got wrong in the drafts. Being told “no, that’s not how I’d say it” is the most useful ninety seconds of the whole engagement.
This is the one part you can’t delegate. Nobody can extract your judgment without you in the room — not your marketing manager, not your operations lead, not us on our own. If you won’t sit for two conversations about your own business, this isn’t for you, and we’d rather find that out now than three weeks in.
What it is not
It is not a website build. Four documents and one homepage. Not five pages, not a blog, not a rebrand.
And the alignment map is a read, not a rewrite. At the Build we find every place your marketing disagrees with itself and hand you the list in priority order, with the reason each one matters. Working down that list — and keeping it closed as your customers’ language keeps moving — is what the service is. We’d rather hand you an honest list than quietly turn a two-week build into a six-week website project.
We’re strict about this and it’s worth saying why: the price reflects how deep we go into your expertise, not how many pages we produce. The moment it becomes page-count work, it stops being extraction and we become a web shop — and you’d be paying five figures for something a freelancer does cheaper and better. If you need a multi-page site, we’ll say so and point you at someone.
Your website, your call
Two ways, decided by you — once at the free rung and again here:
- We hand you the files. Your existing web person uploads them. We never touch your site, and we’ll say plainly that we can’t be responsible for it after that.
- We host it on your own account, so your copy, your forms, your follow-up and your pipeline are one system instead of four.
The second option is never a condition of buying. The moment hosting is mandatory, we’re selling you a platform, and that’s not what this is.
Where it goes next
The Build gets everything true once, and hands you the map of what’s still out of step. Then your customers’ language shifts, your offer changes, you add a service — and it starts drifting again. rung-2-the-service is what keeps it true. → the-three-rungs
You own all of it either way. → you-own-everything
